Trivia

  1. Created by Erick Castro in 2008 while he was working at Bourbon & Branch in San Francisco, USA.

  2. Per Castro, this was a drink that took him a long time to conceive, trying many variations in the process.

  3. Ironically, while the cocktail is now recognized as a modern classic, his manager at the time did not think it was good enough to feature in the bar's menu.

  4. Fortunately, Castro was also creating the menu for Rickhouse and decided to include the drink there, where it immediately became one of the bar's most popular drinks.

  5. Bucks are a style of drink that mix a spirit and ginger beer. Kentucky is a reference to the fact that the drink contains bourbon.
