Gustings' Grasshopper

Ingredients

  • 22.5ml Cognac
  • 22.5ml crème de menthe
  • 22.5ml crème de cacao blanc
  • 22.5ml half-and-half (single cream)

Garnish

Small mint sprig

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice.

  2. Shake until chilled.

  3. Strain into a coupe.

  4. Garnish with a small mint sprig.

Hints

  1. All Grasshoppers can be made with regular crème de cacao instead of the blanc version. Both the color and the taste of the cocktail will be slightly different, but they'll still bring chocolate notes to the drink. Note that there's usually a noticeable difference in taste across all brands.

  2. As with most cocktails containing milk, you can alternate between evaporated milk, half-and-half (single cream) and heavy cream here. As you increase the fat content, the cocktail will be creamier and more decadent.
