No. of Servings:
1

Orange wheel and a grape

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a shaker.

  2. Muddle the grapes.

  3. Add ice and shake until chilled.

  4. Double strain into a lowball glass with ice.

  5. Garnish with an orange wheel and a grape.

Hints

  1. Many people prefer this drink with Aperol instead of Campari. It's a different drink, but also very tasty.

  2. The recipe calls for green grapes, but if you only have red grapes, just use those instead!

  3. This cocktail doesn't quite work as well with lime instead of lemon- its acidity cuts through the other ingredients and hides the grape flavor. You might need to re-balance this cocktail to use limes.

Trivia

  1. Created in 2001 by Vincenzo Errico while working at Match in London. The cocktail was created as a way to introduce Campari to a British palate that wasn't accustomed to the Italian bitter liqueur.

  2. The Enzoni flew under the radar until a couple of decades later, when amari and bitter flavors became more popular. YouTubers such as The Educated Barfly and Steve the Bartender also boosted its fame as they featured it in their channels

  3. The cocktail's name is most likely a play on words between Vincenzo (Enzo) and the Negroni.
