Blue Lagoon (blended)

Ingredients

  • 30ml vodka
  • 30ml gin
  • 30ml blue Curaçao
  • 30ml lime juice
  • 30ml simple syrup

Garnish

Orange or lemon wedge, and a Maraschino Cherry

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to blender with ¾ cup of ice.

  2. Blend for 5-10 seconds.

  3. Pour into a tulip glass and top with crushed ice.

  4. Garnish with either an orange or lemon wedge, and a Maraschino cherry.

Hints

  1. You can add a few barspoons of Maraschino liqueur, or even Cherry Heering or Kirschwasser, to add a little more depth to this drink.

  2. Alternatively a dash or two of Cherry bitters would also work well!

  1. The Blue Lagoon predates the movie of the same name by at least a decade, if not more. It was created some time in the 1960s or 70s.

  2. Andy MacElhone (the son of famous bartender Harry MacElhone), created a blended version of this cocktail in 1972 at Harry's New York Bar in Paris, France.
