Artichoke Hold

Artichoke Hold

  • 22.5ml overproof Jamaican rum(suggested: Smith & Cross)
  • 22.5ml Cynar
  • 15ml elderflower liqueur
  • 22.5ml lime juice
  • 15ml orgeat
No. of Servings:

Mint sprig

  1. Add all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice.

  2. Shake until chilled.

  3. Strain over crushed ice into a rocks glass.

  4. Top with more crushed ice and garnish with a mint sprig.

  1. If you don’t have Smith & Cross, make sure you use a rum that is flavorful enough to stand up to the other big players in this cocktail.

  2. Don’t skimp on the mint! Not only will you provide a better presentation but the aroma will enhance the drink. Make sure you firmly clap it to release its essential oils.

  3. If a cocktail calls for a mint sprig and you are serving it with a straw, place them closely together. When drinking through the straw, your nose will be near the mint, giving you the full experience.

  1. Jeremy Oertel created this drink in 2019 for Donna Bar in Brooklyn, NY. It’s a riff on one of his other recipes: The Bitter Mai Tai.
